KIGA Labs & OCE co-organized Global Startup Pitch Competition at Discovery

Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) held its first GlobalStart Pitch Competition at Discovery 2016, in partnership with KIGA Labs and the Korea Institute of Startup and Entrepreneurship Development (KISED).
Three Ontario companies were selected as finalists to compete at Discovery for an OCE GlobalStart award of $15,000 to help them access the first global market that they identified. The winner was Behram O’Habib from PinPress. Similarly, three Korean companies were jointly selected by KIGA Labs and KISED as finalists to compete in Korea for an equivalent award from KISED. The winner was Soohong Park from Bagel Labs.
One GlobalStart award (CD$15,000) to the winning Ontario company from OCE to support travel, accommodation, living expenses in accordance to the Travel Directives of the Broader Public Sector, as well as hosting cost at the incubator/accelerator selected by the start-up. More details on the eligible use of funds can be found in the GlobalStart Voucher Program.
One equivalent GlobalStart award from KISED to the winning Korean company.
A free GlobalTrade Academy Course from Keiretsu Forum valued at CAD$3,000 for the Ontario winner.
An equivalent workshop from KIGA Labs to provide the Korean winner with mentoring and business planning to support them to access the global market they identified.
